Deserted after the earth is destroyed in a war, this shortfilm follows an astronaut’s desperate attempts to find another soul. The shortfilm is inspired by the isolation brought by the pandemic, combined with the existential dread created by the news of the time.

This short film was produced in less than a month for a college project in 2022, as a crash course into narratives in film and storytelling. My main takeaway from the project was that a good story doesn’t need to be realistic, only believable within its internal logic. With this philosophy we created an entire spaceship filming set in my living room, using only recicled construction materials. Things like a washing machine window were used to create a crude yet believable spaceship.

The shortfilm made its way to a national competition, where it was recognized with an honorable mention for the creativity behind its production.

For this project I contributed as writer, director, producer and editor. I worked with Giacomo Ricaño (Acting, editing and sound design) and Natalia Osuna (Scenario and production).
